Only 45 minutes from Cumberland Kings Bay Lodges, the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Folkston   is North America's largest swamp. The swamp is a major destination for canoers with over 120 miles of canoe trails. Gator sightings are common in what the Seminole Indians called "The Land of the Trembling Earth."

backdrop of the Golden Isles.

The quaint little seaport town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida is a favorite destination of shoppers, who enjoy browsing  for gifts, art, clothing, and antiques in specialty shops located in store buildings dating back to the late 1800s. The historic Palace Saloon pictured here is the oldest saloon in Florida still in the same location.. Many dining choices await you in Fernandina, from outdoor bistros, to old fashioned cafes with Southern cooking, to upscale restaurants on the waterfront.
